"... a vocalist gifted with good
taste and impressive chops!" ~ Hot House - NYC
William Theodore Carney III, “TC III,”
was born and raised in Philadelphia. As
the only son of Jazz Legends, Trudy
Pitts and Mr. C, he was raised in the
heavy jazz tradition of the 60’s.
By the ripe old age of 14 years old, TC
was already performing his first gig
with his parents opposite the Mercer
Ellington Big Band. Jazz luminaries such
as; the Heath brothers, Rahsaan Roland
Kirk, Dizzy Gillespie, Shirley Scott,
Grover Washington Jr., Roy Haynes among
many others were known to TC growing up
simply as, “aunts and uncles.” Given his
deep roots from birth in the Music, TC
has had the opportunity to work with
many of the finest jazz musicians of the
past 30 years.
In 2005 he released his debut album,
Mega Jazz Explosion, co-produced with
Norman Connors on LifeForce Jazz. He
currently resides in the New York City
area leading his weekly residence at St.
Nick’s Pub in Harlem and performing
around the world.
